Who is SQF and Why is it important
SQF (Safe Quality Food) is a program of food safety and quality that is recognized worldwide by retailers, brand owners, and food service providers. All the way from farm to store shelf, SQF safety and quality codes are designed to meet requirements for all sectors of the food supply chain.
Processors who are SQF Certified go through a rigorous review of their facilities as well as audits of the facilities purchases, including the ingredients, as well as production. In our case, through the audits, the SQF confirms that the Organic ingredients stated on the label, were purchased and if the yields actually match the amount of product that we bottle and sell to the public.
Why are the certifications important?
In short, CCOF reviews the labels and each recipes actual ingredients and certifies that they meet FDA Organic standards. The SQF, through extensive audits and established procedures monitors, the manufacturing facility in order to assures the consumer that the product being sold is actually what they are purchasing. Best to think both together work as a affirmation that What You See, is What You Get, Certification.
